After connecting on match.com, Fallon and Bill met for a drink in April 2009. Although she was initially skeptical about online dating, the pair hit it off instantly. An in-person meeting for a quick drink turned into a five-hour conversation that ended only because the bar closed. By October, Bill was spreading a blanket for a picnic, uncorking a bottle of wine, reciting a love letter he crafted, and asking Fallon to marry him. “It just felt right,” she says.
Fallon chose to return to her hometown of Duxbury, Massachusetts, to tie the knot. An ocean-side estate across the street from Fallon’s childhood home was the perfect setting to celebrate the couple’s love of the outdoors amidst their favorite colors of green and blue
A rogue wave might be said to be responsible for the union of Natalie and Rahul. Both were in college on the Semester-at-Sea program in the spring of 2005 when the 55-foot wave incapacitated their ship. The 750 students were split up and finished the program by air. It wasn’t until they were all in Hong Kong that the couple met in a bar.
He proposed in 2010 on the rooftop of the Parker Meridien Hotel in New York City. Their fusion wedding would bring together her Italian family and his Indian family. The carefully planned event took place on the grounds of her summer home, Greystone Manor, in Cape Neddick, Maine. In Indian tradition, around fifty women gathered the day before for a ceremonial henna session.
Beautiful perhaps appropriately hot weather greeted the day and, after a holy fire was lit in the center of the mandap, Rahul led his bride seven steps representing seven principles and promises to each other, and symbolizing the beginning of their life journey together.
